A builder you can get hold of
Jossan Construction is a family-run building firm working out of Newcastle upon Tyne. We take on a small number of jobs at once so that the person who quotes your work is the person standing in your hallway on day one.
B-01 · Story
How we got here
The firm started with one van, a cement mixer and a reputation built on jobs for neighbours. Seventeen years on we run two full site teams, a directly employed joiner and plasterer, and the same electricians and plumbers we have used since the beginning.
That matters more than it sounds. Most problems on a building job are handover problems — the plumber leaves before the tiler arrives and nobody owns the gap. When the same people work together every week, those gaps close.
We have deliberately stayed small. We would rather do fifteen jobs a year properly than fifty badly, and we would rather turn work away than start something we cannot finish on the date we promised.
B-02 · Standards
What we hold ourselves to
Four things we will not compromise on, whatever the job is worth.
Staged payments only
You pay against work that is already standing. We never ask for the full amount up front and we never ask for cash to start.
Clean, safe sites
Dust screens, floor protection and a swept site at the end of every day. Your house stays liveable while we are in it.
Paperwork in your hand
Building control sign-off, electrical and gas certificates, structural calculations and product guarantees, handed over as a set when we finish.

What we don’t do
Being straight about this saves everybody a wasted afternoon.
Commercial fit-outs
We are a domestic firm. Shops, offices and industrial units are not our trade and we will point you elsewhere.
Emergency call-outs
We are not a 24-hour repair service. For a burst pipe tonight you need an emergency plumber, not us.
Day-rate labour
We price whole jobs. If you want a pair of hands for a day to work to someone else's plan, we are the wrong fit.
